New Member Info

Now that you've joined the Literacy Volunteers network, you can:

First and foremost, find and connect with other people who value the work you do as an adult literacy volunteer! Then...

1) Show off your unique style on your Profile Page. Upload a profile photo and decorate your space. Then tell us how you got involved in adult literacy. What program do you volunteer with? Tell us about the learners you serve and the work that you do.

2) Share photos or Videos (you can even easily import a favorite video from YouTube) - but only those relevant to adult literacy, please! (Also, make sure you have permission if you are going to upload any photos of students, teachers, or other volunteers.)

3) Browse our favorite websites in the FLinkit tab (click "Network FLinks" to see what's been shared). Then share your own links. What online resources do you use in your teaching/tutoring?

4) Join a Discussion Forum to ask and answer questions. English language tutors, GED tutors, classroom volunteers, basic skills tutors - there's a group for you! (And if there isn't, why not start one? Contact Susan to request a new discussion group that reflects the work that you do.)

5) Start a blog to share educational materials, tutoring tips, and inspirational stories with the Literacy Volunteers community.

6) Invite your volunteer friends to join us!
